The Heirs of Eternity is a roguelite XCOM-like in a science-fantasy setting in development by Jotun Games. You and your squad of heroes engage in turn-based tactical combat as you expand your empire across a mysterious and alien world.
It is a world that is ancient beyond comprehension. Eons before your ancestors roamed the lands, countless empires rose to greatness and crumbled to dust, their origins so diverse and outlandish that they elude chronicling. Some hailed from faraway lands, others came down from the starry skies, from planets unheard of. And yet others wielded knowledge and technology so advanced you cannot distinguish it from magic.
The reason behind their collapse is shrouded in mystery. That they were here, though, is certain. Their artifacts litter the lands, brimming with latent and immense power. Yet the elders forbid their use. While your clan has withered in retreat for generations, they refuse the power of the artifacts kept within the vaults. Blind to the tales of valor and exploration depicted on the many tapestries lining the halls, they ordain a timid life within your clan’s borders.
But your people cannot thrive like this. As the heir to the throne, it falls to you to lead your people out of hiding. To guide your clan towards greatness, out of the shadows of the empires that came before.
It’s time you relight the beacons, gather your band of adventurers, and reclaim what is yours.

Espen Sogn
Founder, Studio Head and Principal Designer
Espen Sogn is an AAA industry veteran of some twenty years. He worked his way up from animator to Lead Living World Designer at the award-winning Sony Electronic Entertainment developer Guerilla in Amsterdam and the Xbox Game Studio Ninja Theory. During those years he shipped seven full titles including Killzone,Enslaved: Odyssey to the west and the wildly successful Horizon games. In 2023 he did a well-received talk at the Narrative Summit at GDC about the development of the Living World of Horizon Forbidden West.In 2024 he left Guerrilla to found Jotun Games and put his experience to work making a new IP – Heirs of Eternity.

Mario Renaud
Visual Artist
Mario Renaud is the talented artist behind the beautiful and imaginative environments of Heirs of Eternity. Although this is his first big project the quality of his work speaks for itself.

Maria Hejlek
Technical Designer
Maria Hejlek is a freelancer with over a decade of industry experience, working on everything from small indie titles to AAA productions. Known among colleagues for “Maria Magic” – the ability to rapidly get familiar in a new framework and produce results in record time.

Joris De Man
Composer
A two-time Ivor Novello winner and BAFTA-nominated composer, Joris has 25 years of industry experience across games, TV, and film. He is best known for composing the iconic theme music for Sony Guerrilla’s Killzone and Horizon franchises, bringing worlds to life with his powerful and evocative scores.

Sander Van Zanten
Audio Director
Sander van Zanten has a decade under his belt at the influential Dutch game studio KeokeN (known for Deliver Us The Moon and Deliver Us Mars). He has been awarded multiple game awards, including a Game Audio Network Guild Award, and has been nominated next to heavy hitters like Jedi: Survivor, Destiny 2: Lightfall, Baldur’s Gate 3 and Diablo IV.

Jakub Kasa
Environment Artist
A graduate from the SAE Institute in Amsterdam Jakub Kasa has collaborated as an artist on several indie titles before embarking on Heirs of Eternity.
